Sukjai Counsel
A thoughtful, open office environment

Our Story

Built on listening. Shaped by care.

Sukjai Counsel was founded in Bangkok with a single conviction: that people navigating family legal matters deserve a practice that holds space for them, not one that rushes them toward a result.

Who We Are

A practice that began with a quiet question.

Sukjai Counsel was established in Yan Nawa, Bangkok, by practitioners who had spent years working within larger firms and noticed a recurring gap: families in the middle of difficult circumstances often found the legal process cold, hurried, and hard to follow. Appointments felt transactional. Explanations arrived wrapped in language that offered little comfort. People left meetings knowing what would happen next but not feeling any clearer about what it meant for their lives.

We started this practice to address that gap directly. The name Sukjai — ซุกใจ — carries a sense of finding shelter in one's heart, of settling into a place of quiet steadiness. It felt right for a practice where the human dimension of every matter is treated as seriously as the legal one.

Today, Sukjai Counsel assists individuals and families across Bangkok and surrounding areas with consultations, mediation support, and formal family proceedings. Our approach does not suit every situation, and we are straightforward about that. But for people who value being heard and informed at each step, we believe it makes a real difference.

We work only in areas where we have genuine depth — family law matters under Thai civil and commercial code — and we make a point of building files carefully rather than quickly. Our office on Rama III Road is a calm, accessible place where conversations happen without interruption.

How we hold ourselves accountable.

Thai Bar Association Membership

All practising members of Sukjai Counsel are licensed under the Lawyers Council of Thailand and comply with its professional standards and code of conduct.

Strict Client Confidentiality

Every matter is handled under legal professional privilege. Client information is never shared outside the practice without explicit consent, and records are stored securely.

Written Scope Before Any Work

We provide a clear written outline of what each service covers and what it costs before any work begins. There are no hidden charges, and scope changes require written agreement from both sides.

Child-Sensitive Practice

Where children are part of a family matter, we apply additional care to how information is gathered and discussed, and keep their wellbeing as a consistent reference point throughout.

Bilingual Service Capability

We work in both English and Thai, and can accommodate international families or expatriates who need support navigating Thai family law in a language they are comfortable with.

Regular Professional Development

Our team participates in continuing legal education covering updates to Thai family and civil law, ensuring that advice reflects current practice rather than outdated precedent.

Family legal matters require more than technical knowledge.

The Thai Civil and Commercial Code governs family law matters including marriage, separation, parental rights, and asset division. Within that framework, there is considerable scope for how parties proceed — through informal agreement, mediation, or court proceedings — and the path that suits one family may not suit another.

Sukjai Counsel approaches each matter by first understanding what the client actually needs, which is not always what they initially describe. A person who arrives asking about formal proceedings may, once things are explained, find that a structured mediation achieves a more durable result with far less friction. We hold that conversation openly and without steering anyone toward a particular option.

Working in Yan Nawa and serving clients across Bangkok, we are accessible to both Thai nationals and expatriates. Our office is a deliberate space — quiet, unhurried, and designed to feel less like a legal appointment and more like a steady, honest conversation. That environment shapes the kind of work we do.

We believe that people who feel genuinely supported — rather than managed — make more considered decisions, and that those decisions hold up better over time. That belief sits at the centre of how Sukjai Counsel operates.

You are welcome to reach out at any point.
